Angie Miller Debuts "Shatter" Lyrics On Twitter. Is Angie Miller A Christian Artist? Were "Shatter" and "You Set Me Free" Written for God?
Angie Miller update!
You may have voted her out of your Top 3 on Season 12 of American Idol, but Angie Miller is still plugging away at her music career. In fact just a couple weeks ago, Angie debuted the lyrics to her new song "Shatter" on her Twitter account.
Here's a preview of the lyrics Angie tweeted:
It's my passion I believe in / tell me you can hear it /?I want you to need it?/ It's time to break the glass and all that holds me back is gonna shatter
Wow that's epic Angie! One of Miller's best performances from Season 12 was when she sang another original, "You Set Me Free" during Hollywood Week. Seems like Angie has a knack for earnest, confessional lyrics, over haunting melodies.
But what do you think the lyrics for "Shatter" actually mean? Past reports indicated Angie Miller didn't want to pursue a career in Christian music yet the lyrics say different. Miller was somewhat open about her faith on American Idol, but could be afraid of being pigeonholed in one music market.
The lyrics for "You Set Me Free" seem to have been written in a similar vein as "Shatter":
Why can't we just listen /Break down or pray /Go ahead /You come you come with open arms / You say I love you for who you are
Obviously both song's lyrics are vague and ambiguous to be about a number of things. Religion and faith are definitely a couple ways of looking at it. Is Angie unsure of her faith? What is the "passion" she is referring to in "Shatter"?
Stay tuned for the full debut of "Shatter" from American Idol Season 12 finalist Angie Miller.
