Angie Miller on 'American Idol' Elimination, New Single "You Set Me Free", and Skipping College to Compete on 'Idol' 2013 [VIDEO]

Angie Miller may have been bummed after being eliminated from American Idol Season 12, but the Boston-area native isn't giving up. Miller has already released her first original single, "You Set Me Free" [available on iTunes] and has been tearing up the media circuit, giving interviews for The Tonight Show and Idol host Ryan Seacrest.

On Live With Kelly & Michael, Miller spoke about life during and after American Idol 2013. Angie confessed she passed up several college scholarships to compete on Idol, and to achieve her life-long dream of a music career. Though Angie Miller only made it to the Top 3 of Season 12, her gamble should still pay off in the long run.

American Idol contestants know they can launch a highly successful music career even if they don't win the show. Chris Daughtry, Adam Lambert, Kelly Pickler and Katharine McPhee all leveraged losing Idol into successful careers in the entertainment industry.

So what's next for American Idol 2013 finalist Angie Miller? Only weeks after her elimination, Angie signed a co-publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing Group.

"I'm excited to find out who I'm getting signed with this week, and make an album," Angie said in a recent interview with FOX 25 in Boston.

Angie Miller will reunite with the rest of the Top 10 for the American IdolLIVE! Tour in June.
