Angelina Jolie News: Legal Action Against Daily Mail Over Alleged Heroin Video

Angelina Jolie is taking legal action against the Daily Mail over a video taken 15 years ago by her alleged drug dealer that shows her looking unhealthy and emaciated. The Times reported that the actress is suing the British tabloid and that she believes that publishing the video was a breach of her privacy.

As the Daily Mail suggests, the footage was reportedly shot in 1999 and originally leaked to the National Enquirer. In the video, it is believed that Jolie was talking to her father, actor Jon Voigt. They were reportedly discussing her brother, James, and later her mother Marcheline Bertrand.

The video shows Jolie looking very slim, sporting dyed blonde hair and wearing a fitted black dress. The man who shot the footage, a former drug dealer named Franklin Meyer, alleges Jolie was one of his clients and the video was taken with her consent. The 16-minute clip is believed to have been shot at the Ansonia Hotel building in New York City.

It has not been a good week for the Daily Mail as it has managed to incur the wrath of two A-list celebrities. First came the George Clooney case, in which the Mail published an article claiming that fiancée Amal Alamuddin's mother objected to her upcoming marriage to George Clooney on religious grounds. Clooney retaliated by writing an open letter, condemning the Daily Mail's decision to publish the fabricated article, which was followed by the swift removal of said article, an apology from the Mail, and another angry reply from Clooney.

Jolie has openly spoken about her past struggles with drug use before she turned her life around and has now moved on to become an advocate of various charities, as well as being praised for her acting and directing skills. She is also set to tie the knot with her fiancé Brad Pitt relatively soon.
