Angela Miller Performs Colton Dixon's "Never Gone" On American Idol [Watch Video]

Before seeing Angela Miller perform Colton Dixon's, "Never Gone" on American Idol Tuesday night, I predicted she would win the show, becoming the first female in 6 years to do so. After seeing and hearing the performance, I'm ready to place my bet.

Angela Miller's performance of "Never Gone" was the first time she'd played a piano since "You Set Me Free" during Hollywood Week. It seems to work for her. According to Idol's "who was the best?" performance poll from last night's episode Angela Miller earned the top spot with 29% of poll votes, guaranteeing her a spot in the Top 10.

This wasn't the first time Angela Miller took a page out of Dixon's playbook. On the February 14th episode Miller blew the judges away with her original song, "You Set Me Free". The 18-year-old Massachusetts native guaranteed a spot in the Top 40, and established herself as a clear favorite. American Idol judge Nicki Minaj certainly seems to think so.

"The trumpets should sound when you walk in the room little girl. It's safe to say, there is one vote that is counted after that performance. The fact that you have your own signature sound, it's incredible. I love what you do and that's what we love. That's when you come alive," said Minaj. "I love it."

Also an outspoken Christian artist, Colton Dixon placed 7th on the eleventh season of Idol. He wrote and recorded "Never Gone" as the second single off of his post-Idol debut album "A Messenger". "Never Gone" reached #1 on the U.S. Christian charts and #113 on the Billboard Top 200.
