Android M OS Release Date News: Latest Android OS Update Coming to Most Samsung Galaxy Devices in 2015
Here is some good news for people owning Samsung Galaxy devices. They can now expect to get Google's latest operating system, Android M, before the end of this year.
In fact, Google made an announcement in this regard when it officially unveiled the much anticipated Android M at its recently held I/O event. Quoting YouMobile, Christian Today reports that the following Samsung Galaxy devices will be receiving the latest OS this year:
1. Samsung Galaxy Alpha
2. Samsung Galaxy Tab A
3. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge
4. Samsung Galaxy S6
5. Samsung Galaxy S6 Duos
6. Samsung Galaxy Note Edge
7. Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Duos
8. Samsung Galaxy Note 4
As of now, this is the official list of Samsung devices that would be receiving the OS update this year, but it is expected that the list will be appended in the ensuing months.
Even as the Mountain View-based search engine giant continues to update the official list in the subsequent months, it is important to note that the Samsung Galaxy S5 has not been included in this list. However, as far as releasing a right Android M OS is concerned, it is an indication of the fact that that Samsung is possibly moving backwards.
Speculations are rife that the Android M may be rolled out to the Samsung devices mentioned above sometime during the third quarter of the year.
Interesting, another device missing from the list is the upcoming device from the South Korean tech titan - the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Some people are expecting that the Galaxy Note 5 will have Android M pre-installed, this is not the case. It appears that the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 launch date will be very close to the Android M release, thereby rendering little time to test if the latest OS would be compatible with Samsung's upcoming phablet. Having said this it doesn't appear that one can expect the latest Android OS to be following quickly. However, as of now, this possibility cannot be ruled out completely.
Meanwhile, it is important to mention that the list of devices scheduled to receive the Android M is not final, as additional devices are expected to be added to that list before 2015 Q3.
