Android Lollipop 5.0 Update Release Date News: First Devices Receive Latest Google Operation System

The newest version of Google's Android OS, Lollipop 5.0, has been unveiled and is now available on select smartphones and tablets.

Following Google's unveiling of a new Material Design interface and Android L last June, it also introduced the Nexus 6 smartphone and the Nexus 9 tablet in October, alongside the newest operating system, the Android Lollipop 5.0.

On Monday, Google began rolling out the latest version of the operating system to users all over the world.

In a statement released on Monday by Google's Android designer, Nicholas Jitkoff, he said that the Lollipop Operating System employs the latest Material Design philosophy.

In addition, Jitkoff, who released the statement through an official Google blog post, said that the makers of the Android 5.0 Lollipop focused on perfecting the OS' design.

According to Google, the newest Material Design interface featured in the Lollipop, is a "bold, colorful, and responsive UI design for consistent, intuitive experiences across all your devices."

The newest OS is also said to be equipped with an improved security, better notification system, supports 15 languages and has an overall improved camera, audio and video qualities, among others.

Although the Android designer failed to mention the parts of the world where the newest operating system will be available, he said that the update of the Android 5.0 Lollipop is already available on the recently released Nexus 9 tablet and Nexus 6 smartphone, and will now be available for the Nexus 4, 5, 7 and 10 smartphones.

In addition, the update will be available on some Google Play Edition devices such as the HTC One M8 and the Moto G smartphones.

However, Google has yet to announce whether other Google Play Edition devices, including the Sony Z Ultra, LG G Pad 8.3 and the Samsung Galaxy S4, will also get the update.
