HTC One M8 Android L Update: Pre-Installed With Android L, Senior VP Sundar Pichai Confirms
During Google's I/O Conference Senior Vice President, Sundar Pichai, announced the coming of the Android 5.0 otherwise known as Android L. He has proclaimed that it will be the biggest Android upgrade release yet.
The new OS update is reported to have a radical new design, 5000 new APIs, and will be available on developer's platforms soon. The release date for the new OS will vary for developers and consumers. For developers leading with a Nexus 7 model, the OS update is already available as of June 26, according to TechTimes.
For consumers, on the other hand, the new OS will be coming to Android phones this Fall, somewhere between September and October. With the release coming in a few months, Android will still have much time to announce their updates from Android 4.0 and Android L.
One brand of mobile phones is already leading with the latest Android OS update. The Taiwanese mobile company HTC has already announced that their new smartphone units will be released with the new Android L.
HTC said that its new handsets, HTC One M8 and M7 will be released at around the same time as the new OS. The two devices will come pre-installed with the Android L. The company has also planned to bring the Android 4.4.4 update to the HTC One M8 and M7 in July or August.
Initially the two new handsets were lined up to be installed with the Android 4.4.3 Kitkat update, but since it will be set for the Android 4.4.4 and Android L update, it will skip Android Kitkat entirely.
