Android Kitkat 4.4.4 Update: Galaxy Note 4, Moto X and Xperia Z Latest Info and Details
While all Motorola phones, including the AT&T Moto X, are currently receiving the Anroid 4.4.4 Kitat update, other carriers are somewhat delaying the new firmware release.
Nevertheless, Motorola users would be happy to note that Sprint's Moto X will also be receiving the update shortly. However, the U.S. Cellular Moto X may be receiving the update sometime later.
The 4.4.4 update brings in latest features, improvements, as well as bug fixes. According to Motorola, they include enhanced image quality for pictures taken with the user's camera, an updated phone dialer, in addition to the capability of pausing videos while recording them.
While Moto G owners are also expected to receive the update sometime next month, some carriers like Telstra in Australia have been delaying the introduction of the update. According to Telstra, the delays are due to the Sony Xperia Z update.
In addition, there are some problems related to updates that some users are experiencing, such as the OnePlus One update. In fact, the OnePlus One update is reported to be draining the smartphone's battery. Various companies like Google are working to address the problems.
A report by Gotta Be Mobile says that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 may possibly be among the other smartphones that will be receiving the Android 4.4.4 KitKat soon.
In the meantime, Sony is said to be pushing the update for the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, and Xperia Tablet. Android Origin says, "The reports seem to indicate that Sony is doing a worldwide update for these devices," adding, "This update process is still going to be done in batches. Sony asks that you please be patient while they send the updates out to more people every day."
Similarly, HTC is also updating the HTC One M8 and HTC One M7, which are receiving the Android 4.4 update. Although it's the 4.4.3 update, it comes with the same changes that would come with the Android 4.4.4 update.
