Android 4.4.4 KitKat Update on HTC One M8, M7 to Get Latest OS Update July or August 2014

After rolling out Android 4.4.4 KitKat on Nexus devices, the latest operating system update from Google is being made available for other devices.

In fact, the operating system update was released quietly and without prior notice about a week ago, only soon after Google released the Android 4.4.3 patch. In the initial stages, the latest update was rolled out to Google's devices, including Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10.

According to GottabeMobile.com, the update as of now has been made available to a number of Motorola devices, including the Moto X, Moto E and Moto G. The website further reported that Google is endeavoring to send the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update for the Moto G Google Play Edition too.

A blog from Android Geeks said that Google plans roll Android 4.4.4 KitKat update for the HTC One MZ and HTC One M8 sometime during the later part of July or during August.

Meanwhile, insider LlabTooFer has published a leak of the HTC road-map.

The blog states, "A lot of time have passed since last post about HTC Software Updates and I'm ready to share some latest info with you. First of all, I decided to delete old devices like One X, Butterfly (first gen) and etc., as they won't get any further support. So, only actual HTC will be mentioned in this list."

It goes on to elaborate, "There is unclear situation with 4.4.3/4.4.4 updates. GPE versions of M8 and M7 already got both updates. But Sense versions are still waiting, we saw some 4.4.3 leaked builds for both devices, but 4.4.4 changes are so minor, so it will be easy to integrate them. Anyway soon we will see what HTC decide to do."

Referring to the Android L or 5.0, the blog said that the 2013 and 2014 devices should get the latest update soon.
