Android 5.0 L Update Introduced For Nexus 5 and 7, Beta Availiable, Official Fall 2014 Release Expected
Tech enthusiasts will be delighted to hear that Google has finally unveiled its latest Android OS; the Android 5.0 or Android L were announced at the recently concluded Google I/O Developers' Conference in San Francisco. The new operating system is already available to download for Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 platforms.
The Mountain View, California tech giant announced the launch of a beta version for Android L on Nexus devices starting June 26. An SDK release is also confirmed for the Nexus 5 and 7, in the same time frame. Tech fans who posses the following devices will have to wait until they can obtain the newest versions: Galaxy S4, Galaxy S5, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z2, LG G2, LG G3, HTC One M8, and HTC One M7.
Reports claim that HTC has declared that it will release the update for the HTC One and HTC One (M8) in 90 days of obtaining the source code from the tech giant. While this seems to be quite ambitious, Motorola also announced that it will roll out the update sometime during the fall, which corresponds with Google's plant to roll out Android L during Q4.
Meanwhile, one thing that drew many users' attention regarding the latest operating system of Google is the software's user interface. When using the Android L, users should expect added animations as well as touch feedback. Google's announcement makes it apparent that Android L user interface will offer a 3D experience.
From they stand now, the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 (Android L) betas are available, and the official release is scheduled for the Fall.
