Android 4.4 Kit Kat Release Date: Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Note 2, and Galaxy S3 to Receive Soon
Although Samsung seems to be working overtime to keep details regarding the future Android 4.4 KitKat secret, the South Korean tech titan has not been very successful in its endeavor. In fact, the Samsung Galaxy S3, Note 2, Note 3 are rumored to be getting the Android 4.4 update this month.
While speculation related to the release date of Android 4.4 KitKat for the Samsung Galaxy S3, Note 2 and Note 3 has been doing the rounds for quite some time now. Samsung is not famous for endorsing two-year devices, but it appears it is still willing to unveil the update for even the older devices, Here are new details.
A report from the Android Community says that a leaked document from Samsung itself surfaced recently revealing almost everything.
The document suggests that many Samsung devices are scheduled to receive the Android KitKat 4.4, including the Galaxy S3 LTE as well as the Note 2 LTE, which will be getting the update sometime in May.
In addition, the Android version different adaptations of the earlier Samsung S4 forerunner, the S4 mini, are also scheduled to be rolled out sometime this June. Even different mid-range Samsung smartphones and phablets will probably be receiving the Android KitKat by the end of next month.
The just-released Galaxy Note 3 Neo, which was launched in January at the CES, is also expected to get Android KitKat.
What is sad, however, is that the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean support of Galaxy S3's international version, which comes without LTE connectivity, will see its end.
However, people owning this device may still look into the XDA Developers forum if they wish to keep the operating system of their smartphone fresh. However, you will be doing this at your own risk.
Meanwhile, it is wonderful to know that finally Samsung is picking up from its earlier mistakes and offering superior services as well as extended software support to its older devices too.
