Android 4.4.3 Update on Nexus 5, 7 and Google Play Devices Underway
The roll out of Google's latest operating systems update Android 4.4.3 is currently in progress and Nexus, Motorola, and Google Play Edition smartphones will be the first to get it.
Earlier this week, T-Mobile announced that it will be launching the OS update to Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 on June 2. It further announced that the new update would include security improvements as well as bug fixes for these devices. However, there is more to it than what T-Mobile has stated.
We were first informed of the coming Android 4.4.3 release, when Google disclosed the OS update in the form of a factory image last week as well as information on the Android Open Source Project. On Tuesday, Motorola also rolled out the latest Android update for Moto G, Moto X and Moto E users. However, the international users of these devices will need to wait, as currently, the updates are only being released in the U.S.
However, people bought Moto G online in the U.S. as well as people who purchased the device in retail areas of Brazil may also sync to the latest update later this week, along with those owning the low-end Moto E.
Recently, Steve Horowizt, senior vice-president (software engineering), Motorola Mobile, said, "This latest software update brings an improved dialer with a new interface and new colours to enhance consistency and usability, as well as several stability, framework, security fixes, and enhancements to the power profile capabilities."
Android 4.4.3 will also be availiable soon on Google Play Edition devices. Android Police said that the Google Play Edition versions of the Galaxy S4, HTC One, HTC One M8 as well as the Sony Z Ultra started getting the latest Android update last Tuesday.
