Android 4.4.3 Update Galaxy Note 2 New Features: Sprint First to Release, Verizon, AT&T Coming

With 2014 approaching its half way mark, the Internet is buzzing with speculation about the South Korean smartphone manufacturer, Samsung, and their plans for Android 4.4 KitKat.

Incidentally, Samsung announced Android KitKat in September 2014 - close to the launch of iPhone 6 by rival Apple Computer. Recently, Google released Android 4.4 KitKat in October alongside its Nexus 5 smartphone. Soon after, it released the updates for Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10.

Other companies like Samsung, Sony, LG, HTC and Motorola also released the Android 4.4 KitKat updates for their respective devices.

Currenty, Samsung is providing Android 4.4 KitKat updates for about 14 of its devices, including the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4 as well as Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy Note 3. However, information regarding the updates for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 - GT-N7105 abd GT-N7100 Android 4.4 KitKat update, is coming out very slowly. While users in the United States are yet to receive the updates, those in India and France have already received it.

Sprint was the first to roll out the Android 4.4.3 update for Galaxy Note 2 in the United States, May of this year. The roll out software offered several modifications to the Android 4.4 attributes, in addition to a security feature - Samsung Knox 2.0. Galaxy Note 2 users who got this update will now boast enhanced battery life, full-screen album art, wireless-printing support, white status bar icons, in addition to stability fixes.

In addition, Android 4.4.3 KitKat encloses a number of patches for fixing bugs, instead of additional features compared to the previous updates.

Recently, the Korean company also updated its product page for AT&T Galaxy Note 2 by listing KitKat as the present operating system for the device. Since Samsung often confirms the updates long before they actually arrive on the devices, it is not clear whether the users have received the update. Verizon, US Cellular and T-Mobile are yet to make any announcement regarding the update. As is the practice with these carriers, they may make an announcement in this regard, just prior to the roll out.
