Android 4.4.3 Problems: KitKat Update Battery Drain, Random Crashes; Wi-Fi Issues on Nexus, HTC One

Following Google's release of Android 4.4.3 KitKat, users of Nexus devices including Moto X, Moto G, and HTC One have reported a number of system malfunctions including random lag or crashes and abnormal battery drain.

Prior to Android KitKat's rollout, Google had announced that the update should fix system bugs, unstable camera focus, VPN and Wi-Fi connectivity issues, and random reboots. According to Gotta Be Mobile, Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10 users have had issues with random reboots and internet connectivity since the 4.4.2 update.

With Google I/O Conference 2014 set for June 25, Android fans can expect the following outcome. With a rumored launch of Android 5.0, it is expected that the Mountain View-based tech giant will unveil patches for the KitKat version, however, if the release will not push through until the end of the month, users will have to wait a little bit longer. On the bright side, they can still periodically factory reset their device once a system malfunction occurs.

AndroidPIT advised smartphone users to conduct data and file backups before they reset their phones, since KitKat reportedly brings in more technical glitches than solutions. To reset, go to Settings, Backup & Reset, Factory Data Reset. This will refresh the mobile phone into its original state.
