Fox News reports American Idol winner Scotty McCreery was the victim of a home invasion style robbery early Monday morning in Raleigh, North Carolina, police said.

The country singer/college student, McCreery was visiting friends early Monday when three men broke into their Raleigh apartment and held up the five people inside. Police said the confrontation happened just before 2 a.m. when three men with guns forced their way inside the apartment.

Raleigh Police spokesman Jim Sughrue said officers were called to an apartment about a mile from the North Carolina State University campus where McCreery is a student. Three suspects armed with guns are reported to have taken wallets, cash, and electronic items but no one was injured.

In a 911 call released by police, one of the people in the apartment told an operator "they took everything we have."

"They were like 'Get down. Get on the floor and give us everything you got,'" said the caller. The caller told police they were instructed to count down from 100 before they were allowed to get off the floor..

ABC11 spoke with nearby neighbors and said they heard a group of people charging up the stairs.??"All you heard was yelling like 'Who are you? What are you doing here?' for a good five minutes. It was just yelling," one neighbor told the news station. "We just thought it was a bunch of college students partying until that point," said the woman.

He is set to resume touring on Friday, according to his website and is finishing up his sophomore year at NC State. The country music singer has since released three albums since winning the tenth season of American idol, all of which have been top sellers.

According to ABC11 the front door of the apartment was covered in police fingerprinting dust and investigators said they were working to put together descriptions of the suspects.
