American Idol Top 3: Angie Miller, Candice Glover & Kree Harrison Give Emotional Performances Last Night, Who Goes Home Tonight?
"American Idol" was back on FOX last night with the Top 3 ladies singing for a spot in the Top 2 and season finale' for season 12 next week.
The Top 3 all got to take a trip home to visit friends and family and remines about where they had come from.
Each Idol contestant had an emotional story.
Angie Miller is from Beverly,MA which is less than 30 minutes from Boston. So ever since the Boston marathon bombings, she has sent lots of love and support back to her home community and it was a special time for her to get to go back and see everyone and share her love in person.
Candice Glover went back to St. Helena Island where live could be a struggle for people at times. Judge Randy Jackson had this to say after watching her hometown video, "When we watch that video ... we all got lifted with you because we all know what the struggle is like to try and get out of somewhere and to come to a big stage like this," he said. "This is one of the greatest things about 'American Idol,' that you can come from anything, you can come from absolutely nothing, and be somebody with your talent."
Kree Harrison went back to Texas and visited with her sister and took a trip back to her childhood home. This was the last place that she was around both of her parents who have now died. Harrison lost her mom in an accident and her dad in a plane crash. Kree currently lives in Nashville,TN now.
Each of the contestants shared about how much being home had inspired their performances last night and it was obvious to the judges as well. They stated over and over how emotionally connected the singers were to their songs which lifted their performances.
Angie Miller sang "Maybe" by Emile Sande, "Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word" by Elton John and "Try" by Pink last night.
Candice Glover sang "Next to Me" by Emile Sande, "One" by U2 & Mary J. Blidge and "Somewhere" by Barbara Streisand last night.
Kree Harrison sang "Perfect" by Pink, "Better Dig Two" by The Band Perry and "Here Comes Goodbye" by Rascal Flatts.
