"American Idol" resumed tonight on FOX with the Top 6 giving two performances per contestant.  

Candice Glover gave her second performance to end the night on American Idol and it was literally a show stopper.  

Glover performed "Love Song " by the Cure but did her own arrangment and it was a surreal moment.  A rush just seemed to go over the crowd as she finished performing and the standing ovation from the judges and the crowd just kept going. Idol judge Mariah Carey even got out of her seat, walked up to Candice on stage and threw a flower at her feet. 

The judges were gushing over Glover and she definitely gained momentum into the Top 3 if not the favorite after this performance. 

Host Ryan Seacrest came down to the judges and asked, "What came over the studio after her performance?"  Randy Jackson said, "This was one of the greatest performances EVER on American Idol.  Jackson came back again and said, "one of best performances on any talent show ever"
