"American Idol" Makes History Tonight Choosing An All Female Top 5
"American Idol" continued on FOX tonight with the results show for the Top 6 contestants.
It has been a female dominated season all year long, with no girls being sent home since the Top 10 was established. Tonight it was down to 5 girls and just 1 guy in the Top 6. That one guy left standing, Lazaro Arbos, was expected to go home tonight, which would leave an all girl Top 5!
Well Lazaro Abros did end up being in the bottom two and getting sent home tonight. He has had a good run on "American Idol" this year making it to be the last guy standing this year. His story has inspired millions over his time on the show and everyone wishes him the best on his future career.
So for the first time in "American Idol" history, the Top 5 are all females and it is a very strong group. Angie Miller, Kree Harrison and Candice Glover are the favorites of the 5 girls in the competition. Glover ended "American Idol" last night with her performance of "Love Song" by The Cure and it literally brought everyone to their feet, even the judges seemed in awe of the performance.
Celebrating with the girls tonight was be original American Idol, Kelly Clarkson. Clarkson has been the benchmark of success since she won Season 1 and along with Carrie Underwood, they have been the standards that every girl hopes to achieve when she joins Idol.
Kelly Clarkson performed her song, "The People Like Us" Which is off her greatest hits records volume I, with a glow in the dark theme. Her voice is still so incredible and shows the Idols to what they need to shoot for.
"American Idol" alum Scotty McCreery also performed tonight on the results show, the song was a little generic, but he still has his charm that people loved when he was on the show.
