American Idol: Justin Bieber & Selena Gomez to be Judges Next Season on Idol (Season 13)?

Everyone knows by now that "American Idol" at least by the ratings, is a shell of the show that it used to be with nearly HALF of its viewership gone from its glory days.

The talent this season (Season 12) is actually pretty solid with 3 very strong female singers remaining, however the judges are what most people talk about, and in Idol's case this is not a good thing.

New singing shows like "The Voice" on NBC, currently in Season 4, have shown the power of positive chemistry by the judges and how ratings are boosted because of it. "American Idol" executive producer Nigel Lythgoe has even gone on record saying the judges' lack of chemistry on Idol is to blame for this season's declining ratings.

On Idol, the bickering gets worse by the week, especially between judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey, who overshadow the competition each week. Last week it came to a height when even on stage, the two were throwing verbal jabs and Nicki taking the disrespect to a whole new level when she pulled out a Q-tip to clean out Mariah's ears last week. "American Idol" fans know that Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey will most likely not be back on the show next season.

Well reports are surfacing that Nigel is hoping to assemble a "dream team" of judges that includes pop superstars Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Pink and Sean "Diddy" Combs for Season 13.

This seems unlikely as Bieber and Gomez are in the heights of their young careers and Pink and Diddy have turned "American Idol" down in the past because the pay wasn't enough.  However, it does make for something interesting to talk about.

Fox is desperate for "American Idol" to regain its status and a revamp and higher salaries might be worth it now, where in the past they had more leverage.

Rumors popped up recently that Idol tried to pull off a mid-season replacement of their $18 million catch, Mariah Carey, with former judge Jennifer Lopez, but to no avail. J-Lo will be  performing her new single, "Live It Up" next week on the Idol season finale however.

Are you watching this season of "American Idol"?  Would you watch if Bieber, Gomez, Diddy and Pink were judges next year?
