American Idol 2013: Burnell Taylor Says Voted Off Season 12

On tonight's American Idol 2013 results show, fans said goodbye to Burnell Taylor. Season 12 is now down to it's Top 6: Angie Miller, Kree Harrison, Candice Glover, Janelle Arthur, Amber Holcomb and Lazaro Arbos.

Though Burnell Taylor was the stronger of the two guys, America obviously has a soft spot for Lazaro, voting him into tonight's Top 3. His raspy, soulful voice was one of the most distinctly unique of the competition.

Though last week's "Cherie Amour" was pretty dull, and his Bon Jovi cover, "You Give Love A Bad Name" was suspect Burnell Taylor has had some high notes. Taylor's best performance came during Las Vega week when he sang the same song he auditioned with, "I'm Here" from the Broadway play "The Color Purple".

Janelle Arthur joined Burnell in the Bottom 2. After Burnell's name was called as the next contestant in danger of being eliminated he sang India.Arie's "Ready For Love" as his "save" song. After the judges revealed they would not be using this season's one and only "save" the crowd erupted in discord over the decision.

Tonight's episode was easily the most heart-wrenching elimination of American Idol Season 12. The contestants broke down especially Burnell's close Idol friend Candice Glover. Ever the smooth, polished persona Burnell exited gracefully but not before stealing a kiss on the cheek with Amber Holcomb. On Wednesday night's performance episode Burnell revealed a secret crush on Miss Holcomb.

Tune in to see the Top 6 perform on next week's American Idol Wednesday night episode at 8/7c on FOX.
