In one of the most shocking eliminations in recent history, Angie Miller got the boot on last night's American Idol 2013 Top 3 results show. Congrats to Candice Glover and Kree Harrison!

For those of you reading this, I've been covering American Idol Season 12 from the beginning and from the beginning I've staked my claim for Angie Miller as a clear favorite to win this year. Little did I know the power of middle America, who opted for Kree Harrison's down home sensibilities.

Candice Glover and Kree Harrison were visibly in awe after Ryan Seacrest announced Angie's elimination. They were trying to hold back tears and smiles; not knowing if they should celebrate or console their friend. Angie's farewell song was an awkwardly sad affair and was joined by her family and the Idol judges on stage.

Angie Miller being eliminated last night just goes to show there's still some magic in American Idol. After 12 seasons of the doing the same thing over and over, the show can still surprise you. Angie Miller's elimination last night comes in the wake of recent reports the Idol 2013 judges would be fired at the end of the season and replaced by all new judges.

Earlier yesterday afternoon, Randy Jackson [whose been with the show since day one] confirmed he'd be leaving Idol after Season 12. Still no word from Keith Urban, Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey, but they'll probably get "eliminated" due to a decline in ratings.
