'American Horror Story' Season 3 "Coven" / Premiere Episode 1 Synopsis Leak Online / Salem School of Witchcraft in Voodoo Territory? October 9 Release

Wondering what happens in the American Horror Story Season 3 premiere? The synopsis for Episode 1 "Bitchcraft" just leaked online. We know from the teaser trailers "Coven" will deal with the Salem witches vs. voodoo witches, but how will the series unfold on its October 9 release.

American Horror Story: Coven will start on the Salem side of things. A young girl named Zoe [Taissa Farmiga] is, "shattered to discover she possesses a strange genetic affliction tracing back to the dark days of Salem." The young soon-to-be witch is sent off to Miss Robichaux's Academy for Exceptional Young Ladies. Miss Robichaux's is not like any other school because it's, "devoted to safeguarding the few remaining descendants who share this unique bloodline."

Fiona Goode, the most dangerous witch around comes back to town and in turn rekindles a few old rivalries with the voodoo witches.

Episode 1 was written by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. The premiere was directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon.

Returning to the American Horror Story Season 3 cast is screen icon Jessica Lange [who has to be Miss Robichaux, right?], along with Frances Conroy, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Taissa Farmiga, Kathy Bates, Gabourey Sidibe, Angela Bassett, Patti LuPone, Emma Roberts, Denis O'Hare, Alexandra Breckenridge, Christine Ebersole, Danny Huston and Lily Rabe.

American Horror Story: Coven Season 3 is set to premiere October 9 at 10 PM ET on FX.
