‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ Latest News: Two-Part Halloween Special

The producers of 'American Horror Story: Freak Show' (Season 4), will air a two-part episode Halloween special, with part-one starting Wednesday, October 22.

Last week's episode saw the arrival of Dell Toledo, a man with superhuman strength and his hermaphrodite wife, Desiree. Viewers also witnessed how bizarre Dandy Mott and Twisty the Clown's unexpected bond is.

This week's episode will mark the third of the season and will feature an old carnival superstition, which involves the tale of Edward Mordrake, a man who lived in the 19th century, and had two faces.

Mordrake was born with a rare congenital disorder called disprosopus, which is a disorder that results in duplicate parts of the face, and in extreme cases a single head can have two complete faces.

In Mordrake's case, there was another face on the back of his head. He approached a doctor to have the "demon face" removed as it was allegedly whispering evil deeds to do every night.

The doctor refused to perform the surgery and Mordrake ended up killing himself. He tragically ended his life when he was only 23 years old.

Because of the urban legend, the members of the Florida-based freak show refuse to perform on Halloween night as doing so might summon his spirit and haunt them.

In the promotional video for the episode, Bette and Dot Tattler insist that Mordrake's story is merely a myth. Kathy Bates' character Ethel Darling, however, believes the opposite, and is convinced he was a real person.

TV Line described Mordrake, played by Wes Bentley, as someone who is a "dark tormentor from [Kathy] Bates' past," who will stop at nothing to exact his revenge.

Sources have not confirmed if this tale is true or not, but disprosopus is a real-life disease which will surely be depicted in episode three.

A teaser video also features a first-time appearance of Emma Roberts, who will star as fortune-teller and con artist named Maggie.

'American Horror Story: Freak Show' airs every Wednesday at 10 pm on FX.
