Amazon Prime Unlimited Photo Storage: Amazon Offers Big Cloud Storage Boost to Prime Member Subscriptions

Amazon is offering unlimited photo storage for its Prime members, in a move to attract more subscribers into their massive delivery service.

Prime Photos is much like other photo storage services offered via cloud software, such as the Dropbox, Box, Google Drive and One Drive.

The new feature lets Prime members automatically create a back-up of all files into the Amazon's Cloud Drive, which can be accessed by their tablets, phones or computers.

Prime Photos allow its more than 20 million subscribers to store and access audio and video files, as well as photos and documents, which they can view using a variety of devices.

Prime members have the ability to upload pictures from devices which use Apple's operating system, as well as from gadgets using the Android operating system.

The feature also works with the Sony PlayStation 3 and 4, Fire TV stick, and the Amazon Fire TV. Additionally, select Samsung and LG smart TV's can also access Prime Photos.

Amazon created Cloud Drive, which is the newest file-syncing offering, in an effort to rival Apple's popular iCloud, Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive and Google Drive.

However, in comparison to the already existing file-syncing services which have a fee if a certain amount of storage is used, Amazon's Prime Photos is free of charge once a user becomes a Prime member.

All users who have Amazon's Cloud Drive Service, regardless of being a Prime Subscriber or not, automatically receive 5 gigabytes of free storage upon sign-up.

The free storage is enough to hold more than 5,000 photos.

Meanwhile, those who purchased Amazon's smartphones and Fire tablets launched earlier in 2014 by CEO Jeff Bezos, already have access to an unlimited photo storage on their gadgets.
