Amazon Kindle Fire to Release 3 New Tablets by Christmas 2013? See Screen Resolutions and Details for New Devices
Christmas shoppers for 2013 will have even more choices this time around to find that perfect tablet as the perfect gift.
Amazon is expected to release three new tablets by the end of 2013, all with beefed up features and specs.
The first is an updated Kindle Fire. This is the 7-inch screen and will be updated to a 1280x800 resolution which will make it equal to the current Kindle Fire HD.
The new Kindle Fire HD 2 model, will jump up to a 1920x1200 resolution display, which will be a big jump from the current display of 1280x800.
There is still no place for an SD slot, which is what many consumers were waiting to see if it would be added.
Lastly, the new high end Kindle Fire HD 8.9 (inch screen) will have a 2560x1600 resolution, another nice jump from the current model. This will put it on par, and even above, the high resolution displays of the iPad and Nexus 10. The iPad 5 is reportedly staying at 2048x1536 resolution of the last iPad device.
The look of the new tablets is expected to make subtle changes. The new tablets have been described as having a more "chiseled" look with less rounded corners then current models. The new models are expected to be substantially lighter than the current ones, but we will have to wait and see.
The Nexus 7 and the fall release of the much anticipated iPad Mini 2 will make for a lot of competition to win over the holiday shopper.
With the three new tablets hitting the market, do you think they will push their way into the lead of the tablet corner or no?
