‘Alice in Wonderland 2’ Release Date, Spoilers: Sacha Baron Cohen Joins ‘Through the Looking Glass’
Sacha Baron Cohen, star of 'Borat', has agreed to join the sequel of 'Alice in Wonderland', entitled 'Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass'. According to the Independent, Cohen will be joining the cast together with Rhys Ifan, the actor who played Lizard in 'Amazing Spider-Man'.
They will join original cast members Mia Wasikowska (Alice), Johnny Depp (Mad Hatter), Anne Hathaway (White Queen) and Helena Bonham Carter (Red Queen).
On a side note, Carter, Hathaway and Cohen previously worked together for the film adaptation of, 'Les Miserables'.
As for the upcoming sequel's voice-overs, Stephen Fry will be the voice of Cheshire Cat, Michael Sheen for White Rabbit, and Alan Rickman for Blue Caterpillar.
The production is directed by James Bobin and has already started shooting at Shepperton Studios in London.
'Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass' is a "continuing story of young Alice's (Mia Wasikowska) adventures in Wonderland," according to Moviepilot.
It has been one of the highest-grossing films of all time after they released the film in 2010. It profited over $1 billion worldwide. It also garnered two Oscars for Best Direction and Best Costume Design.
It is a movie adaptation of the book, with the same name, written by Lewis Carroll.
The script was written by Linda Woolverton, and it is set to release on May 27, 2016.
