Middle Eastern News Network Al Jazeera Launches Al Jazeera America and sets up 1 of 12 Bureaus in Nashville

Over the last year, Al-Jazeera has been on a hiring spree. Al Jazeera plans to give Americans access to International News that Americans have had ready access to before through other major news networks. Looking to fill 800 new positions for Al Jazeera America, the upcoming news channel received over 21,000 job applications.

The news congomeration, based out of Qatar, is building 12 bureaus across the United States, and plans to be a major news contender competing against CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News. In order to get a leg up on the competition, Al Jazeera America plans to launch in large cities that are not the home to other major networks. One of its bureaus plans to call Nashville, TN home.

Many Tenneseans are hesitant to receive Al Jazeera, fearing the organization will bring unwanted change.

"When we start allowing this garbage to fill our airwaves, along with the building of temples in the U.S. who honor false gods we are headed for disaster. Let's send them on their way, back to their meccas and places of false worship."-consumer Jeff Cowgill said.

Many Americans are hesitant of Al-Jazeera's presence in the United States because of allegations of Al-Jazeera's alliance to organizations that stand against democracy and the west. However, Al-Jazeera has a highly respected reputation abroad and is known as a clean news source that specializes in communicating stories from the vantage point of those who often lack a voice.

"If you would take the time to examine Al Jazeera online then perhaps you would find very accurate and well researched articles about many international interests. Please don't be so close minded as to dismiss something you haven't researched yourself." -consumer Deanna from Knoxville, TN said.

Being centered in the Middle East, A-Jazeera often reports stories that Americans do not have access to, or if they do, it's exclusively covered from an American perspective.

Most developed countries readily allow news sources from other countries, and the USA is one of the only developed nations that do not offer International News as a part of a regular and easily accessible cable package. Al Jazeera America's presence is sure to bring vital international stories to the USA that Americans otherwise would not have access to.

Al-Jazeera plans to launch its Nation Wide network on the week of August 24, 2013. It announced the purchase Al Gore project, Current TV, in January of 2013.
