‘Agents of SHIELD’ Season 2 Rumors, Spoilers: New Season to be Split in Half

Agents of SHIELD Season 1 ended in the massive destruction of one of the globe's reputable anti-terrorist organizations. Now, Director Coulson has to build the agency from the ground up, and this means putting up a show similar to that of the vintage James Bond films.

Actor Clark Gregg told Collider that Agents of SHIELD Season 2 is going to be technically primative. Gregg, who plays the role of Director Coulson, revealed that the next season will air in two halves to give way for the Christmas holiday season.

"I thought there were so many things stacked against us last year and one of them was where the ABC television schedule would put us on for three episodes and then take us down for four weeks.  Nobody could get a momentum going and when the show started to be on consistently and having story that carried over in an episodic way, that's when things started to click," 52-year-old Gregg added.

Danny Pudi, who was cast in Community and Cougar Town, is rumored to act in a cameo role after his appearance in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Pudi has not yet confirmed anything, but he told TV Line that anything is possible and that he is interested in taking the role.

It's first season premiered on September 24, 2013. Agents of SHIELD Season 2 is expected to return on ABC sometime in late September or October.
