Agents of SHIELD Season 2 Release Date, Spoilers: Agent Coulson Explains Rebuilding and Going ‘Back to Basics’
In Agents of SHIELD Season 1 Phil Coulson's spy agency was totally dismantled. In Season 2, the task of rebuilding the organization from scratch will be going "back to basics."
Actor Clark Gregg compares the setting to a Sean Connery-James Bond film, where the story gets darker and bolder.
Gregg, who plays the role of Agent Coulson, told Collider, "It's going to be lo-fi. You're going back to basics. You've got to rebuild SHIELD from the ground up in a much more dangerous world where your group is outlawed. So it feels like the early, Sean Connery James Bond with the brass knuckles and not afraid to knock somebody off."
Rumor has it that Agents of SHIELD Season 2 will air on two different schedules, Spring and Fall 2014, which according to Deadline, might be a better strategy to justify the agency's reconstruction.
When asked what went wrong in Season 1, Gregg said that the ABC's proprietary spy show struggled in achieving momentum between its scattered episodes, Den of Geek reported.
"Nobody could get a momentum going and when the show started to be on consistently and having story that carried over in an episodic way, that's when things started to click. For the most part, a [season two features] straight run of our show, which is when I think it really works," said Collider.
Also, ABC announced that Agents of SHIELD Season 2 will be moving to the 9 PM time slot every Tuesday, which justifies Marvel's dark themes.
