'Agent Carter' Season 2 Spoilers: Peggy Carter Will be Battling Many Bad Guys, New Villain Revealed
In 'Agent Carter' Season 2, fans of the show will see the heroine Agent Peggy Carter (Haley Atwell) will be too preoccupied dealing with a new villain. Tara Butters, one of the executive produces of the ABC television drama series, revealed that Carter will be seen battling Madame Masque in the new season.
Quoting a report in /Film (SlashFilm), IB Times states that the chances were necessary to accommodate the new villain in the storyline owing to the time period 'Agent Carter' is set in.
Butters said, "Here's the thing. It's a little hard," adding, "In the comic books, a lot of the Marvel period, there are issue rights. Our villain from the season is very much a Marvel villain that we co-opted a little bit like we did Dr. Fennhoff in the first season."
Many fans of the show have started wondering if the character, who is the daughter of a notorious crime boss who was romantically linked to Tony Stark, has been changed. Of course there have been some changes in the character, but most of it is physical.
Elucidating further, Butters said, "I think we've changed the look of her a bit obviously." He went on to add, "We've made her an actress, which is very Hedy [Lamarr]. She was a '40s siren actress who was also a scientific genius, so that's part of what we're mining with this character."
In fact, Peggy Carter will not only be dealing with Madame Masque in the upcoming season. In fact, she will be seen juggling multiple bad guys.
Meanwhile, executive producer Michelle Fazekas told Entertainment Weekly, "People who are fans of the Marvel comic-book universe will recognize our villain, and there's more than one villain." Fazekas added, "We're certainly taking inspiration from the comic-book universe, so anybody who knows that will be rewarded."
In 'Agent Carter' Season 2, viewers will see Peggy Carter battling crime in Hollywood. In addition, the upcoming season will feature more of James D'Arcy and Enver Gjokaj, who were earlier announced as series regulars.
'Marvel's Agent Carter' Season 2 will premiere on ABC in 2016.
