Adam Muema News Update: San Diego State RB Missing Since 'Following God' by Leaving NFL Combine, Resurfaces
Several friends of Former San Diego State running back Adam Muema's have said that the young football player was missing in action since he opted out of an NFL scouting opportunity on Sunday because he was "following God," but apparently the athlete has resurfaced.
Those in Muema's inner circle, including a close friend and his former high school football coach, told a local San Diego newspaper that they have not heard from the athlete since he surprisingly opted not to perform in the NFL combine practice in Indianapolis.
According to Michael Gehlken of U-T San Diego, the running back showed back up Friday morning at the Florida facility where he was training, still wearing his NFL-issued gear from the Combine.
"I know he's fine. I know he's safe," a person close to Muema said. "But I don't know what happens from here. There are good people that are helping him."
A missing persons report has not been filed for the young former Aztecs player so many believe he was purposely distancing himself due to all the attention his decision received.
All of the attention kicked up after Muema made the decision not to do any drills at Sunday's NFL Combine because he says God told him not to do them. But since news of his decision hit the media, the player was highly criticized for his faith.
The NFL Scouting Combine is a week-long showcase where college football player's perform in front of National Football League coaches, general managers, and scouts. But Muema decided not to run drills because he stated he was "following God," who told him if he missed workouts, he'd play for the team of his "dreams" the Seattle Seahawks.
NFL teams are aware of the ex-Aztec players decision but he insistently said he, "Can't go wrong with God."
Following all the media attention and the reports that he went missing for a week the same source said, "I'm glad he's safe, obviously, But the last thing I think he needs to be doing is be talking to anyone, on Twitter, media, anything like that. He just needs to get his life right. . . . I hope he stops being a story."
Muema's deep spiritual convictions is something he is very open about. Those around him are well aware of his religious beliefs and they are very evident on social media.
