Adam Muema News Update: San Diego State RB Mysteriously Spends 3 Days at Airport After 'Following God' by Leaving NFL Combine

Former San Diego State running back Adam Muema's inner circle was worried for the player because his went "missing" after he surprisingly opted not to perform in the NFL combine. The athlete soon resurfaced and new information pinned Muema at the airport for 3 days per "God's" instructions.

According to the San Diego Union-Tribune Muema spent three days alone in the baggage claim area at the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., international airport. Muema reportedly told a friend about his whereabouts and was still wearing his NFL-issued combine gear when his friend finally picked him up.

"He said he was at the airport for three days straight," Muema's friend, Corey Nelson, told the U-T. "He was telling me when I picked him up that God told him to stay at the airport and don't do anything. Just stay there. That's what he did for three days straight.

"On the fourth day, he told me he couldn't do it anymore. He decided to call me."

Nelson noted that Muema seemed "focused, cheerful and very wise" when he picked him up on Thursday. Muema flew home to Los Angeles on Friday.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Muema was at a Catholic church in Indianapolis when he decided to skip the NFL Combine. While players were practicing at Lucas Oil Stadium Muema was in prayer. The La Times and a series of reports state that Muema's decision to skip drills came from a series of coincidences involving the number eight that led the player to believe that God told him Seattle would draft him if he left the scouting event.

"He told me numbers told him to do this," Father Jim Baraniak chaplain for the Green Bay Packers told the L.A. Times on Monday. "I thought he meant the book of the Bible."

Muema expounded on the number theory on a post on Instagram last weekend:

"Okay here's is the Seahawks #8 story. I was given #8 the first time playing football started to love this number. I was wondering if I could be 8 in the NFL & he said go to the store to decorate your living space. Went to the Christian store lady says when did that get in & didn't let her grab it & said it was for me. Later, I ditch the combine to go to the Saturday service & speaker was GM for Seahawks. I was honored by the Rev for being the 1st out of 8 yrs to go to this service, I cried :) If I would of performed that day I would of missed that meaningful #8. Glory be to God. Keep calling them coincidences if you want to."

Muema is also linked to a figure called Lord RayEl who says he is the second coming of Jesus Christ. The young athlete has been tweeting and posting about the RayEl on Facebook. The so-called prophet appears to be helping power Muema's beliefs.

On Saturday, Lord RayEl posted on Twitter that Muema's choice to leave the combine "was foretold by Torah Code prophecy." The tweet also included a link to a YouTube video that attempts to explain the so-called prophecy.

Muema has changed his Twitter profile to read "Seahawks #8," continues to believe Seattle will draft him in May. He also believes he must skip San Diego State's pro day March 19 for the Seahawks prophecy to come true.

Muema rushed for 2,702 yards and 31 touchdowns in his last two seasons at San Diego State and passed up his senior year to turn professional. Prior to his entry, the NFL Draft Advisory Board projected he'd be a fourth to seventh-round pick, a source said.
