Actress Kristin Scott Thomas Says 'No Way' She Would Let Her 12-year-old See Her 'Violent' and 'Sexual' Film 'Only God Forgives' (TRAILER)

'The English Patient' and 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' actress Kristin Scott Thomas recently talked about how humanity has become desensitized with violence and sex, as she used her film 'Only God Forgives' (which also starred Ryan Gosling in the lead role) as an example.

"I found [her film] incredibly violent, and I was very disturbed by the fact that in France it was given the official seal of approval that any child over the age of 12 could see it. That was just the producer wanting to make more money, but it was irresponsible. There is no way my 12-year-old son would see that film," said Thomas to Hunger magazine.

The 54-year-old English actress went on to express her viewpoint regarding violent content found in modern day videogames such as 'Grand Theft Auto 5' and 'Saints Row 4' to name a few.

"I've seen with my own eyes that more than 20 minutes in front of a screen playing a game is very bad for children," said Thomas.

"It's because they have this idea that they're all powerful, and that they're running the world when they're playing this game, and they find it hard to relate to authority after that. I've found that with my own children. They can't stand being frustrated because they can't do this or that, but a few minutes before their thumbs were ruling the world."

"Julian [Gosling], a drug-smuggler thriving in Bangkok's criminal underworld, sees his life get even more complicated when his mother [Thomas] compels him to find and kill whoever is responsible for his brother's recent death," reads an official film outline via IMDB.

'Only God Forgives' was released in American movie theaters on July 19, 2013.
