Acappella Formation Celebrates 30th Anniversary
Acappella celebrates their 30th anniversary. The formation was founded in 1982 by Keith Lancaster. With the release of Acappella's album Sweet Fellowship in 1988, the group's style was set. The unique sound and development of the band was expressed through their Hymns for All the World, which helped the group tour overseas more extensively in the 90s. Their latest project Find Your Way features Acappella's strong harmonies and biblical lyrics.
During Acappella's 30 years in the Christian music industry, the formation has released over 20 albums, toured around the world, and performed in over 3000 concerts.
Acappella's 30th anniversary will be celebrated with reunion concerts at Acafest 2012 at Lipscomb University, Nashville, TN. Acafest 2012 is held from June 30 - July 3, 2012.
Keith Lancaster also founded The Acappella Company which is now home to artist Acappella, as well as Durant and Vocal Union. Keith Lancaster received an MCA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008, and recently, on June 30th he also received the 2012 Kopio Award from Lipscomb University.
