Aaron Paul New Series News: 'Breaking Bad' Actor Lands Role In New Hulu Original Series, 'The Way'
'Breaking Bad' actor Aaron Paul has seemed to land his next role on a television series, starring opposite of Michelle Monaghan. The original series titled 'The Way,' will air on Hulu, and looks to also add the actor on as a producer for the 10-episode series.
"Created by Jessica Goldberg and developed inhouse at True Jack Prods. by the company's Katims and Michelle Lee, The Way examines a couple, Eddie (Paul) and Sarah Cleary (Monaghan), at the center of a controversial movement struggling with relationships, marriage and power, with each episode taking an in-depth look at what it means to choose between the life we live and the life we want. Paul's Eddie suffers a crisis of faith when all that he's come to accept as truth in his life is fundamentally challenged," writes Deadline.
The role doesn't sound like something fans are used to seeing the actor in, but this will perhaps allow Paul to showcase his broad range.
Paul's role as Jesse on 'The Breaking Bad,' being his breakout performance, has kept the actor in a certain box, allowing him to only play roles as a temperamental, off the handle protagonist. The character he is set to play on 'The Way' sounds a lot more grounded.
"'The Way' joins Hulu's growing slate of original programming with Stephen King and J.J. Abrams event series "11/22/63," starring James Franco; comedy "Difficult People" produced by Amy Poehler with stars Julie Klausner and Billy Eichner; comedy "Casual" from Jason Reitman; and the revival of "The Mindy Project," which will bring Mindy Kaling back for 26 new episodes," writes Variety.
'The Way' makes its way to Hulu this winter.
