Aaron Hernandez Arrested, Released by New England Patriots / Charges Unconfirmed, Arraignment at 2 PM ET

After more than a week of ongoing police investigations, New England Patriots tight end, Aaron Hernandez was finally taken into custody Wednesday morning, after being associated with the death of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd.

Hernandez will be brought before a court for his arraignment at 2 PM ET Wednesday afternoon at Attleboro District Court in Massachusetts.

The Massachusetts state police have yet to confirm the charges against Hernandez. As of now Lloyd's death has been ruled a homicide. Police have refused to confirm any speculation surrounding how Lloyd died, and Hernandez's involvement in the homicide.

However, sources close to Lloyd and Hernandez claim the two were close and were out the night before Lloyd's body was found about a mile from Hernandez's Attleboro home.

At around 10:20 AM, the New England Patriots issued a statement announcing they release Hernandez from the team, and sent their sympathy support to the family and friends of Odin Lloyd.

"Words cannot express the disappointment we feel knowing that one of our players was arrested as a result of this investigation," the Patriots' statement read. "We realize that law enforcement investigations into this matter are ongoing. We support their efforts and respect the process. At this time, we believe this transaction is simply the right thing to do."

Three warrants have been issued relating to the homicide investigation. Though specifics regarding the issued warrants have not been confirmed many believed Hernandez is being charged with obstruction of justice after turning over destroyed home security equipment and a destroyed cell phone.
