Outside of Sacremento, a 8-year-old girl, Leila, was stabbed to death in her home in Valley Springs, CA.  There was an an intruder according to report from the Examiner.

Initial reports were that Leila was 9, but her 9th birthday was coming up in June.  

On Saturday (April 27) around noon, the girl's 12-year-old brother encountered the male intruder and saw him run away. The boy then went to check on his sister, who he found had been stabbed.

The girl was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Authorities have been conducting a house to house search for the intruder, who was described by the boy and a neighbor as a muscular Hispanic male with long grey hair, about six feet tall. He was wearing a black long-sleeved shirt and blue pants at the time.The parents were not home during the event.
