'50 Shades of Grey' Movie Cast Rumors: Cara Delevingne Auditions for Role? August 1 2014 Release Date

Could the rumors be true? Is the 50 Shades of Grey movie adaptation finally auditioning possible cast members?

Model and actress Cara Delevingne reportedly auditioned for a part in the highly anticipated 50 Shades of Grey movie.

50 Shades director Sam Taylor-Johnson has already expressed interest in the fashion starlet after seeing Cara's small role in her husband's Anna Karenina, alongside Keira Knightley.

A source close to Cara says: "[Cara] is a global icon now and a good actress as well and Sam [Taylor-Johnson] wants her in the movie -- though which part exactly hasn't been established. ... [Cara's] agent has also been talking to Kelly Marcel, the screenplay writer. And, if need be, a strong role will be written in for her."

Will the 20-year old model play Anastasia Steele? Reports indicate Delevingne will not be playing the lead if she is in fact cast in the upcoming movie.

So what character will she take? Could it be Kate Kavanagh, Anastasia's best friend and roommate?

For fans of the book, Kate was originally supposed to interview Christian Grey for the school newspaper. In a stroke of raunchy fate, Kate became ill so Anastasia had to interview the kinky Grey.

Would the model land the role of Mia Grey, Christian's adopted sister?

Maybe Delevingne will be cast as Leila Williams. Leila was the Christian's play-thing before he met Anastasia. Leila grows jealous of their relationship and stalks the two.

50 Shades of Grey the movie is set to hit theaters August 1, 2014.
