Many viewers of '24: Live Another Day' have been left confused after news broke saying that the show may not return for a second season.

If the show does return on the air, then that means that the entire '24' series would consist of only 10 seasons. Even though many fans feel that the show offers dramatic and heart-stopping twists and turns, the most concerning detail to network producers is a show's ratings.

Recently, the show has been falling off from its usually decent ratings. This is probably the main factor when considering to bring back '24: Live Another Day' for Season 2.

According to reports, the show maintained it's 10 million mark per episode in terms of ratings for Season 1 - 7. However, after Season 8, it took a significant blow and only topped out at 8.5 million. Many speculate that with the new season of the series, the statistics will fall even lower below the bar.

When confronted with these rumors, CEO of Fox Networks Group, Peter Rice recently mentioned that '24: Live Another Day' will most likely happen as the network was pleased with the production's performance.

As it stands, there is no confirmed release date for the possibly upcoming installment, but rumors claim that the show would return sometime in 2016 if it is renewed.
