2014 Delta Aquarids Meteor Shower Live Stream, How to Watch Meteor Shower Tonight (VIDEO)
The Delta Aquarid meteor shower is expected to be very visible to spectators on July 29-30, as a result of moonless sky on Tuesday.
The shower will peak on Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. ET and can be seen online through live stream via the link provided below.
"The Southern Delta Aquarids meteor shower will be best observed from July 28 to 31 and estimated to peak before midnight and onward on July 29/30," said PAGASA (Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Association) Officer-in-charge Vicente Malano, according to GMA Network.
According to EarthSky.org, the shower can be clearly seen (weather permitting) because of the new moon that appeared on Saturday, July 26.
"In years when the moon is out of the way, the broad maximum of this shower can be expected to produce 15 to 20 meteors per hour in the predawn hours around July 29. The downside is that a new moon coinciding with the peak of the Delta Aquarids means it's pretty much a full moon that accompanies the peak mornings of the 2014 Perseid shower (August 11, 12 and 13)," according to Bruce McClure and Deborah Byrd's analysis in the EarthSky.org report, in reference to when it is the best time to watch the upcoming Delta Aquarid meteor shower.
"In any case, late July and early August are probably your best bet for watching meteors in the summer of 2014. Best time to look for both the Perseids and the Delta Aquarids is between midnight and dawn."
According to NASA's official website, its Marshall Space Flight Center will offer a view of the atmosphere above Huntsville, Alabama.
