The 2014 Billboard Music Awards were last night and along with a slew of big production performances some of music's best came together to applaud one another and receive awards for another year of music.

Some of the larger performances of the night were Imagine Dragons, John Legend, Katy Perry, Lorde, Miley Cyrus, and Pitbull. Of all of those, perhaps the biggest performance was the Michael Jackson Hologram.

The Jackson hologram performed with backup dancers and did a song from his posthumous new album, Xscape. "We tried to do as best we could what we thought Michael would have loved, and those of us who knew Michael really well, we had a good perspective on it," L.A. Reid, said to the Associated Press.

Notably missing from the awards show was Justin Timberlake, who accepted his awards through video. "All the other finalists, Miley, Imagine Dragons, Bruno, Katy, I love you guys, it's not a competition, but if it is, I won!" said Timberlake in his video message. "I want to thank everybody on earth, everybody on earth, except, except Donald Sterling."

Other performers included 5 Seconds of Summer, Ariana Grande and Iggy Azalea, Florida Georgia Line, Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, and Miranda Lambert, OneRepublic, Jason Derulo, and Ricky Martin.

Top Artist honors went to Timberlake, as he also won for Top Male Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Radio Songs Artist, and Top R&B Artist.

Top New Artist went to Lorde, while Top Female Artist was picked up by Katy Perry, as she also won Top Digital Songs Artist. Imagine Dragons had a great showing, taking home Top Duo/Group, Top Hot 100 Artist, and Top Rock Artist.

Top Touring Artist honors went to Bon Jovi and Miley Cyrus picked up a win for Top Streaming Artist. Eminem took home an award for Top Rap Artist, Luke Bryan for Top Country Artist, Marc Anthony for Top Latin Artist, Daft Punk for Top Dance/Electronic, and Chris Tomlin for Top Christian Artist.
