'19 Kids and Counting' Duggar Family News: TLC Censors Pro-Life T-Shirts, Sparks Controversy
'19 Kids and Counting' star family, the Duggars, are very vocal and well known for their conservative Christian views. This is something that is not commonly seen on other television programs, so it definitely sets them apart. However, TLC seems to be having problems with their views all of a sudden.
In the latest episode of the family reality show, TLC blurred the words "I Survived Roe vs. Wade, Roe vs. Wade Will Not Survive Me" printed on a T-shirt.
The slogan that has been censored refers to the US Supreme Court's 1973 ruling, which said abortion in the first trimester of pregnancy, was legal. Moreover, the person who presented these T-Shirts to the family is not very happy about it.
"I was shocked," Bryan Kemper said, "It really amazes me that TLC would censor this; it's not like people don't know the Duggar's beliefs. Knowing that the shirt appeared in the previous episode without being blurred, I am wondering if they received complaints or negative feedback after it aired," the Stand True activist added.
Bryan Kemper met several of the Duggar family members during the Students for Life of America Conference and gave them T-Shirts for the whole family. While, the blurring has thwarted his excitement, Kemper has asked his followers to show TLC that there are more people supporting the Duggar family wearing these shirts than the complaints.
The incident has also ignited reactions on social media. "Do you really have to blur out the Duggar's pro-life t-shirts? Do you really think people that think children are a curse and should be legally killed are watching a show about a family with 19 children?" A fan wrote on TLC's Facebook page.
Another one posted "Your network knows how the Duggars feel about God and family ... Without their Pro-life stance you would not have their popular show,"
TLC has yet to state a comment or explain their stand on the issue.
