Zelda Wii U Release Date: Whole New World to Explore, New Trailer [VIDEO]

Nintendo designer and producer Eiji Aonuma revealed at the recent Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) a much bigger and open world environment that Zelda series fans will surely be delighted to see.

During the panel, Aonuma emphasized the change that they imposed in 'Zelda Wii U'. While the previous series, (like the Wind Wakers) were able to offer a vast world where adventurers could freely move around, still they felt that players were still limited in an environment that is set by defined entrances and exits.

With the help of much more powerful hardware and an advanced game design, they were able to smash down these boundaries. With the new 'Zelda Wii U' title, players won't have to follow any set path or scenarios in order to explore the world.

"You can even reach those mountains in the distance if you walk far enough," Aonuma said, referring to the upcoming Zelda game map, "You can enter any area from any direction," he added. This is quite evident to other well-known sandbox games like Skyrim where players can loiter around and about anywhere they like.

As with the release date, there hasn't been a confirmation. Although, if you watch the featured gameplay trailer (provided below), one can see the year 2015 flashed briefly.

When asked about this, Shigeru Miyamoto, the Senior Managing Director and General Manager of Integrated Research & Development Division replied that, "Although this Annual General Meeting of Shareholders is a special opportunity, I am afraid I cannot give you any information other than what has been officially announced."
