WildStar PC Game Release Date: Developers Talk Success Plan as High Review Ratings Come In
Released June 3, WildStar, a new MMORPG (Massively-Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) for PC calls for experienced and hardcore players of the genre to enlist for an adventure in a pay to play virtual world.
Carbine Studios, its developer, has new ideas and outlook on its game that might set it apart from its forerunners.
Focusing on the long term, without negligence toward the short, WildStar promises endless and ever shifting content for players who reach the highest level attainable (50). Some could even argue and say that the game truly begins at the end, when a player is fully leveled.
Creative director Chad Moore explained to Digital Spy, "Often times companies fall into the trap of developing content that once players get to the very end, there's nothing for those players to do. What that usually means is those players get bored and then they leave your game."
Moore pinned the term "suicidal" on any studio omitting extensive end-game and post-release content development in their foreseeable future.
He continued by mentioning the importance of player feedback towards developmental initiatives, "Even though we have this game plan for the kinds of content that we're making - some of it we're already making - at any point, we are willing to just say, 'Nope, that's no longer going to be valid because of player feedback. Maybe we do something else'."
After its open public beta test, Wildstar, released on June 3, received a 9.7 community rating on IGN.com, a rating of "Amazing."
