Top Gun 2 Release Date, Cast, Plot Rumors: Production Green Light, Tom Cruise Delighted

Top Gun 2 has recently been confirmed for production, but as of yet, there is no word pertaining to its release date.

There has been a huge dilemma regarding the film's production after the original director, Tony Scott, had passed away. Several issues started to attack, questioning if the sequel will really be produced. One of the issues that was reportedly stopping the Top Gun 2 movie from its production was the uncertainty in the participation of the actor, Tom Cruise.

Cruise who is the lead star of the original film was reportedly reluctant to do the sequel. There were also issues that mentioned that the studio did not want to commit to the production.

Recently, its seems as though things have been hashed out as the film has been confirmed for a release.

The prospect of a sequel actually came about years ago, but it was not brought to life and the possibility of bringing it back to the movie industry has been vague since Tony Scott's death.

According to the report made by Huffington Post, top producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed that the sequel for the film is coming and its plot is modern as ever. He also revealed that they made several attempts to make Top Gun 2 as exciting as the first film while its release date is still uncertain. Bruckheimer also credited the late Scott to be the person who was able to crack the story before his death in 2012.

Bruckheimer also a spoiler regarding the upcoming film. He revealed that the concept will revolve Cruise trying to prove that pilots are not obsolete even in the midst of technologically advanced drones.
