According to News Everyday, the third season of "Tokyo Ghoul" is set to be delayed primarily due to lack of source material. As per the publication, the postponement of the series' next season serves as an opportunity for the creator and writers to work on some matters like some scenes spotted in season 2, which reportedly diverged from the manga's original storyline.

As per reports, "Tokyo Ghoul's" manga iteration is a few chapters in advance of the anime series; thus, the former will be left behind if production opts to pursue "Tokyo Ghoul"season 3. As a result, the production team of the manga series has to make an original content for them to be able to show something to the viewers.

Following this path, it is assumed that some viewers may adversely react or criticize the series, as it is not based on a manga source material.

In other news, online petition for "Tokyo Ghoul" remake has started, according to Christian Daily. As per the publication, the news on the season 3 delay has left some fans disappointed, which led them to begin an online petition for an anime reboot. As per the report, some fans reached the "Tokyo Ghoul" Wikia page for the producers to be aware of their thoughts and wishes.

Overall, Studio Pierrot and FUNanimation have not yet given their comments on the issue.
