'Tokyo Ghoul' Season 3 Release Date, News, Rumors: Next Season Delayed? Fans Are Calling for a Reboot

Fans of the popular anime series "Tokyo Ghoul" will have to wait for more months for its third season, as recent reports say that its premiere date has been deferred allegedly due to lack of source materials to complete its storyline.

If rumors about the delay are true, then the initial announcement that "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 will be broadcasted later this year will not happen. Speculations claim that the series is more likely to return in 2017, when creators of the series already have enough manga materials to provide for an entire season.

The manga version of "Tokyo Ghoul" is a few chapters ahead of the anime series, which means that if the production chooses to push through with "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3, manga will lag behind and the "Tokyo Ghoul" production team will have to come up with an original content just to have something to show to the viewers.

Fans of the series believe that there have been too many superfluous scenes in "Tokyo Ghoul" season 2 that it has already deviated so much from its source material. Their reactions point toward urging the creators of the series to stick with the original source for season 3.

It was recently revealed that because of how displeased fans of the series have been with "Tokyo Ghoul" season 2, they would rather opt for a reboot than a continuation of the series. A petition for this cause has been going around for weeks now.

"Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 will follow the life of Touka Kirishima, a fighter notorious for wearing a rabbit mask.
