'Tokyo Ghoul' Season 3 Release Date News: Manga Series Premiere Delayed To Latter 2016?

The third season of "Tokyo Ghoul" might experience a couple more months of delay with its release according to sources. The season premiere might get pushed back as far as the latter part of 2016.

Initially, the third season was supposed to be released just this past winter. It was then speculated to be released this spring but as summer is about to come, we still haven't heard any release date from the makers of the popular animer series.

According to Crossmap, the manga version of the anime series only had 43 chapters so far. The number stated wouldn't be enough to fill up a whole season. So what the creators of the anime would do is to create fillers through out the whole series, which would likely result to a different path or personal and relationship backgrounds within the characters in the future. Let's just hope that moving forward, the creators would still be able to sync in the show with the manga.

FUNimation President and CEO Gen Fukunaga said (via Crossmap) that the third season is set to be released this year, and also, a mobile game might be in the works.

"Ever since we began simulcasting the anime series last year, fans of 'Tokyo Ghoul' have been clamoring for a mobile game," Fukunaga said. "With season two now finished and three set for 2016, the anticipation for the game has only grown higher," he added.

Tokyo Ghoul is a Japanese manga series created by Sui Ishida. The manga originally ran through September 2011 to September 2014. Since then, a couple of newer versions were created to continue its story.
