'The Last of Us 2' News Update: Ellie And Joel Seeing Horrifying Deaths In Sequel Game?

Naughty Dog's upcoming game sequel "The Last of Us 2" is set to see a terrifying death scene, as per reports.

According to HNGN, "The Last of Us 2" is bound to show more horrifying death scenes than its predecessor. The website writes that the developers will utilize principles of psychology to make this possible. It is further revealed that death is depicted as pain and suffering, instead of simply absence of life.

The original game, "The Last of Us," managed to exploit the said principles in denoting death, barring the use of too much bloody visuals that are linked with murder, Kotaku reports. It is assumed that the approach follows a creative form that integrates emotional cinematic elements to immerse fans and gamers effectively to the gameplay; thus, it also gives them a more realistic gaming experience.

It is further revealed that players will assume that scenes that are cut to black may be linked to death, which is left to the player's way of imagining things. Overall, this makes the dying process more terrifying than the actual death.

According to Hardcore Gamer, Naughty Dog's approach in "Uncharted" and "The Last of Us" has arisen as the latest revolution in the gaming industry. As per the publication, both the studios' titles focused their spotlight on the significance of a solid cinematic experience and not only the gameplay.

With regards to the gameplay, it was previously revealed that the pregnant woman players have seen in the latest "The Last of Us 2" posters was Ellie; though, it could also be her mother, Anna. Moreover, it is unclear at this point whether Joel is still part of the game storyline.

According to HNGN, "The Last of Us 2" release date is set for some time in 2017.
