While it will be a few more months before the NBC crime television drama 'The Blacklist' returns for its third season, fans are already curious to know whether Liz Keen (Megan Boone) will eventually discover why she and Red (James Spader) are always connected.

Christian Today reports that in 'The Blacklist' Season 2 finale aired in May, fans saw Liz finally reminiscences many vital facts regarding her actual identity, as her memory was activated when she fired at the unscrupulous Attorney General Tom Connolly (Reed Birney). It appears that Liz was responsible for killing her father to defend her mother Katarina when she was just a child. However, there is no information as to what happened to her mother since.

'The Blacklist' fans are also wondering why Red has a photo of Liz's mother in his apartment. Is this due to the connection regarding the connection between him and Liz?

Earlier, viewers of the popular crime television drama have been thinking that Red and Liz would be romantically involved. Nevertheless, now it appears that Liz has real feelings for her fake husband Tom Keen (Ryan Eggold).

In an interview with Zap2it, Boone had previously admitted that she is actually not sure about what her character actually feels about Red.

The actress told the publication, "I think people see how much Red loves her, and it is a confusing kind of love." She added, "I think that will have to be answered. How do you love someone that deeply -- no matter what the circumstances, but especially when the circumstances are mysterious?"

Nevertheless, Boone is of the view that Liz's love for Red is not actually romantic. It remains to be seen whether this is owing to their connection with her mother. Meanwhile, iDigital Times had reported several theories regarding the relationship between Liz and Red. According to one theory, Red could be her real father, while another theory states that Red and Katarina are siblings. Hence, it may turn out that Red has been shielding Liz all through as they share a blood relation.
